Press Trust of India Jammu
Volunteer Retirement Scheme (VRS) employees of J&K State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) today staged a protest rally here to demand clearance of their pending dues and arrears.

The rally, led by its president Dev Raj Bali, began at Press Club here and moved towards the Civil Secretariat. It was however stopped midway by police, leading to a minor clash between the two groups.

The protesters raised slogans against the state government for not clearing their pending dues of Cost of Living Allowance since 1999 and demanded implementation of Sixth Pay Commission.

Bali appealed to the state government to consider their genuine demands and said pending dues of all VRS employees should be cleared as soon as possible.

He threatened to continue the stir and march towards Civil Secretariat on March 25.
