J&K to host U-19 football tournament

Jammu and Kashmir is set to host a five-day under-19 football tournament as part of the 61st National School Games here in October.

The Department of Youth Services and Sports (YSS) and School Games Federation of India are organising the event from October 8 to 12 here, an official spokesman said.

He said various committees have been constituted for the smooth conduct of the national level event.

Minister for Youth Services and Sports Imran Raza Ansari would be the patron in chief of the organising committee while as Chief Secretary Iqbal Khandey will be the patron.

Commissioner Secretary Youth Services and Sports Hirdesh Kumar will be the chairman of the organising committee while Director General, Youth Services and Sports Jehangir Mir is organising secretary.
 

The other Members of the Organising Committee include District Development Commissioner Srinagar, Director School Education Kashmir and Commissioner SMC, the spokesman said.

Ten other committees would look after boarding and lodging, finance, technical, transport, medical, ceremony, reception and equipment. Besides, a control room would also be set up, the spokesman said.
