Jammu and Kashmir government today announced the reconstitution of an empowered committee to look into the cases of left-out daily rated workers engaged prior to 1994 for regularisation.
The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed here, Educational Minister Nayeem Akhtar told reporters after the meeting here.
He said over the time, the empowered committee which was entrusted the job of regularisation of daily rated workers engaged prior to 1994 had been disbanded, as a result of which a number of such employees were left out.

"The cabinet today decided to reconstitute the empowered committee for regularisation of daily rated workers engaged prior to 1994 who on one or other reason have not been regularised so," Akhtar said.
"They were left out and since the empowered committee had gone defunct, we have formed another empowered committee which will look into the cases of those who have been appointed prior to 1994," he said.
