Police have arrested two persons in a burglary case in south Kashmir's Pulwama district and seized stolen items worth lakhs of rupees, police said here today.

A shopkeeper last month had reported in police station Pulwama that unknown thieves intruded into his shop and decamped with many mobile phones and a laptop, a police spokesman said.

Police registered a case and an investigating team was constituted under the supervision of SP Pulwama, he said.

The investigation team yesterday held two burglars identified as Abrar Ahmad Yatoo, a resident of Sonachoke Rajpora and Zeeshan Farooq Chat, a resident of Chatpora, the spokesman said.

He said the arrest of the two burglars led to the recovery of stolen mobile phones and a laptop worth lakhs of rupees.

Further investigation in the case is going on and more recoveries and arrests are expected, the spokesman said.
