Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who is the chairman of J-K Muslim Waqaf Board that manages the affairs of shrines and mosques in the state, gave the nod to enhance the emoluments of Imams from present Rs 3,000-6,000 slab to Rs 5,000-10,000 slab, an official spokesman said.
Omar, who chaired the 15th meeting of Board of Directors of Muslim Waqafs and Specified Waqaf Properties here, also ordered a special administrative and financial audit of the Board.
