The Jharkhand unit of the BJP today welcomed Chief Minister Raghubar Das' announcement of two per cent reservation in jobs for sports persons.
Besides encouraging hockey, archery and wrestling, which are traditionally played in the region, BJP spokesman Pratul Shahdeo said the built of sports persons in Kenya was such that they excelled in middle and long distance runs.
This model could be adopted in Jharkhand as well, he said.
Das had yesterday announced the reservation to encourage sports.
