Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das Monday condoled the demise of Union minister Ananth Kumar.
Kumar, who was the Union Parliamentary Affairs and Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister, died at a private hospital in Bengaluru in the early hours of Monday.
"I am deeply saddened at the sudden demise of Ananth Kumar. I pray to God to give strength to his family at this hour of grief," Das said in his condolence message.
Stating that the nation has lost its "Amulya Ratna" (an invaluable gem), Das said.
"Be it revival of Sindri Fertilizer Factory or any other developmental programme of the state, he had always cooperated," Das said in the message.
Kumar, 59, was suffering from cancer and had come back from the US in October after treatment at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre, New York.
