With an aim to make Jharkhand investor-friendly, Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das and his team today reached Las Vegas and took part in the Mining Expo 2016 seeking investments for the state.
The Chief minister and his delegation apprised the investors about investment possibilities in Jharkhand and invited them to invest in the mining sector, an official release said.
At the Jharkhand Pavilion, Das met GE Mining Chicago, CEO Scott Phillips and Hollidaysburg Pennsylvania CEO Sean McLanahan and Caterpiller Private Limited's Business head Rahul Jain.

During talks on investments, the team apprised the investors about possibilities in the mining sector. Caterpiller Private Limited's Rahul Jain proposed to set up Mining Equipment Machinery at Adityapur in Jamshedpur, the release said.
Das told investors that Jharkhand was entering a new era in industrial development and has been inviting investors in the country and abroad on its capacity and resources, the release said.
With 40 per cent of the country's mineral resources, 27 per cent of coal and 26 per cent of iron ore, Jharkhand is a resourceful state and investors have enormous possibilities, the release said adding, Das said Jharkhand would be benefited through participating in investment events like mining expo.
Apprising about investment possibilities, Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma said after roadshows in Benguluru, Hyderabad, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai, during which MoUs were signed with Cisco, Oracle and HP, the Mining Expo at Las Vegas would also open several doors, the release said.
Additional Chief Secretary/Development Commissioner Amit Khare, Additional Chief Secretary (Energy) R K Srivastav, CM's Principal Secretary Sanjay Kumar, CM secretary Sunil Kumar Barnwal, Principal Secretary (Urban) Arun Kumar Singh were among others in the delegation, the release said.
