Press Trust of India Ranchi
Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today directed to suspend the then Commandant of Sastra Police Bal Harinarayan Mahali in connection with recruitment of class four employees.

Das ordered the suspension and to initiate departmental inquiry against Mahali after prima facie he was found guilty in the recruitment of class four employees in 2015, an official release said here.

Cancelling all the 269 posts, the Chief Minister handed the entire matter to the anti-corruption bureau to look into it.

Das also asked the ACB to probe into the mysterious death of the main accused Devendra alias Dilip Mishra, the release said.

A selection board had been set up and Mahali was made its chairman to select various posts like barber, cook and other posts and an advertisement was published in this connection.

Out of 100 marks for the selection process, Mahali had kept 60 marks and 20 marks for other members of the board.

An FIR was lodged after alleged irregularities surfaced and later a probe by the police headquarters had found Mahali's alleged involvement.
