J'khand govt revises VAT on petrol, diesel

Jharkhand government has revised VAT rates to bring stability in the rate of petrol and diesel in the face of fluctuation of rates on fuel.

The modified rates of the VAT, which was approved by the Raghubar Das Cabinet yesterday, would be Rs 15 per litre on petrol and Rs 12.50 per litre on diesel, official sources said here today.

The existing VAT rates on both petrol and diesel was 22 per cent and after issuance of notification on the fixation of new rates, petrol would be costlier by Rs 4.54 and diesel by Rs 4.21, the sources added.
