Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today said he knew the pain of poverty and that is why the government has decided to bring smile on the faces of the poor.

"I myself have seen poverty, so I know the pain of the poor. I want to bring smile on the faces of the poor and that will be the success of my government," Das said at a function here, according to an official release.

"I have decided to eradicate poverty from the state and we are working on it," he said.

"The society has to change its approach towards the poor and all of us must enquire about the well being of the families and children of the poor associated with our office and home. This type of empathy will automatically initiate great changes in the society," the chief minister said.

"We can educate the poor and this can be our biggest contribution to the society, because education will bring the poor in the mainstream of the society and eradicate orthodox thoughts and social evil," Das added.
