"If the demands are not met by the month-end, we will go on an indefinite strike from next month. The date of strike will be decided at our Central Committee meeting," JPA General Secretary Kamal Kishore said here.

JPA leaders were visiting all the districts asking the members to get ready for a long fight to realise the demands," Kishore said.

The main demands include revoking of a new norm that no official of inspector or sergeant major rank would be promoted to the rank of DSP if they crossed 55 years, immediate reforms in fixation of salary, revision of allowances of uniform, ration, cycle, commando and travelling and stopping of 'frequent transfer' of police officials, and appointment of more ASIs and subedars, he said.
