The NBSA is the self regulatory mechanism established by news-broadcasters to look in to complaints and viewers' grievances related to content of news channels.
In a statement, the News Broadcasters Association (NBA) said Justice J.S. Verma, former Chief Justice of India and former Chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission would be the chairperson of NBSA.
Nitin Desai, Economist and former Under Secretary General of United Nations, Dipankar Gupta, former Professor of Sociology at JNU, Chokila Iyer, former Foreign Secretary and Dr S Y Quraishi, former Chief Election Commissioner would be the other members.
Rahul Kanwal, Managing Editor of Headlines Today, Vivek Law, Editor of Bloomberg TV India, Ajit Anjum, Managing Editor of channel News 24 and Johny Lukose, Director (News) of Manorama News would be the members from the editors category.
