Eminent theatre- and film-director Dr Jabbar Patel received the prestigious Vishnudas Bhave award today for his contribution to the Marathi theatre.
Veteran theatre person Arun Kakde handed him the award at a function here.
Dr Sharad Karale, president of Akhil Bharatiya Natya Vidya Mandir Samiti, Sangli (which has instituted the award) was also present on the occasion.
Patel felicitated Dr Dynand Nayak and Shafi Naykwadi for their contribution to the local theatre.
