The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of employees, teachers and workers demanded a "united" Andhra Pradesh at a public meeting here today which was attended by nearly a lakh people from various parts of the district.
JAC leaders Buriga Asirvadam, Pithani Trinadh, Achanta Ramarayudu addressed the people and explained to them the importance of a "united" Andhra Pradesh and anticipated problems to the common man if the state is bifurcated.
Government teachers, employees of the health department and the municipal corporation raised slogans against the proposed bifurcation of the state.
