"The Pursuit of Happyness" actor Jaden Smith hopes that by wearing female clothing he can change attitudes towards gender fluid youngsters.

The 17-year-old actor and singer often posts pictures of himself on Instagram wearing nail polish and skirts and Smith believes that his fame can help to remove the stigma around gender fluidity, reported Femalefirst.

"So, you know, in five years when a kid goes to school wearing a skirt, he won't get beat up and kids won't get mad at him. I'm taking the brunt of it so that later on, my kids and the next generations of kids will all think that certain things are normal that weren't expected before my time,"Jaden said.

Smith recently became the first male star to have a solo cover for Nylon magazine in the publication's 17-year history and his parents - Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith have always encouraged him to be brave, reported female first.

"The greatest lesson I've learned from my parents is to be myself, at all costs, no matter what anybody thinks.
