Veteran Wasim Jaffer was today named captain of Mumbai for their four-day Ranji Trophy Group A fixture against Orissa, starting at the Wankhede Stadium on December 14, in place of the injured Abhishek Nayar who is out of the game.

"Nayar suffered a hip and ankle injury in the game against Jharkhand and is not available for this match. So too is Akbar Khan who fractured his hand in the same game. They have been replaced by Kaustubh Pawar and Balwinder Singh Sandhu (Jr)," informed Mumbai Cricket Association's joint secretary Nitin Dalal.

Dalal further stated that Mumbai's top pace bowler Dhawal Kulkarni will be out of action for a further 15 days after suffering a fractured toe earlier this season.

Mumbai, who were given a fright by Jharkhand and escaped with a draw and a point, still lead the points table with 20 points ahead of their last home game in the league.

The squad to play against Orissa:

Wasim Jaffer (Capt.), Aditya Tare (WK), Kaustubh Pawar, Hiken Shah, Suryakumar Yadav, Balwinder Singh Sandhu (Jr.), Vishal Dabholkar, Siddhesh Lad, Javed Khan, Shardul Thakur, Sushant Marathe, Kshemal Waingankar, Manish Rao, Pravin Tambe and Sagar Kerkar. Coach: Sulakshan Kulkarni.
