A jail warded was killed after his motorcycle was hit by a speeding vehicle in Danauda khurd area of the district.
42-year-old Ram Prasad, who was attached with the Karnal jail, was returning from a relative's place last evening when the mishap occurred, police said.
He died on the spot.
A case of erratic driving has been lodged against the unidentified person, they said.
