Members of the AAP traders wing met Satyendar Jain today and said the Delhi industry minister has assured factory owners that the city government will not allow cancellation of the lease of their establishments in Bawana.
Convenor of Aam Aadmi Party's traders wing Brijesh Goyal, who was part of the delegation that met Jain, said the process of freehold ownership of factory plots in the city will be started, to provide relief to the owners.
In a statement, Goyal said the Delhi government fully agrees to freehold policy for factories.
"The L-G's approval on freehold policy is necessary. In today's meeting, Satender Jain assured factory owners that if the free hold gets stuck further, then they are ready to sit on fast with factory owners," he said.
The Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC) has issued notices to thousands of factories in Bawana asking them why the lease of their establishment should not be cancelled for alleged violation of rules.
According to Goyal, there are more than 16,000 factories in the Bawana Industrial area out of which notices have been sent to around 11,000 of them.
