Jain to meet Gadkari for central support for odd-even pvt

In a bid to enlist the cooperation of the Centre for effective implementation of the prposed odd-even registration number private vehicle formula, Delhi Home Minister Satyendar Jain will meet Union Transport Nitin Gadkari tomorrow.

The Arvind Kejriwal government has constituted a steering committee, chaired by Jain, regarding implementation of the formula for the plying of private vehicles in the national capital planned to be rolled out from January 1 next year to help curbn air pollution.

"On the issue of odd-even formula, Jain will meet Gadkari tomorrow," said a senior government official.

Earlier in the day, the steering committee held a meeting to strategize how to roll out the scheme. The government will prepare a detailed policy in this regard and table the same in a Cabinet meeting soon.
 

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had on December 5 said that the government would discontinue the move if people faced problems.

On December 4, the AAP government had come out with a plan of restricting private vehicles bearing odd and even registration numbers to alternate days from January 1 in the national capital.
