The former international player Surabhi Mishra, who has been out of action due to her ankle injury, has taken up the challenge to revive the sport in state and has established 'Surbahi Mishra Sports Foundation'.
"We are going to promote all the sports through this foundation but as of now we are organising 'Durlabh ji Junior Squash championship'. Jaipur used to host Golecha memorial all India Squash but unfortunately it couldn't be held for past few years because of lack of sponsors," Said Surabhi.
"Now the avid sports lover Yogi Durlabhji has come forward to sponsor this junior event. The Jaipur Club too has been kind enough to extend its facilities like its glass courts and also the residential rooms for the tournament.
"The top ranked Indian boy Kush Kumar and others like Vijay Meena and many others upcoming youngsters are expected to participate in the tournament which would have prize money of Rs. 2,00,000 (two lakh)," she added.
There would be five age categories in boys section where as the girls section would have four events ranging from under-13 to under -19 categories.
"We are expecting more than 50 players from Jaipur and Rajasthan. The last date for the entries is 10th of September," She added.
