The three-day annual 'Desert Festival', a major tourist attraction which showcases the rich heritage of Rajasthan through cultural and folk performances, was inaugurated state Governor Margaret Alva here today.
Folk artists performed traditional dances in the grand procession which depicted vibrant culture and folk life of the state, besides several competitions including turban tying, moustache competition at Poonam Singh stadium.
Alva, the chief guest for the function, inaugurated the festival organised by the state government.
Senior government and district administration officials were present in the function.
