Jaiswal to lead protest march against power cuts in Kanpur

Says Kanpur despite being an industrial hub was witnessing daily power cuts of 8 to 10 hours

Press Trust of India Kanpur
Former Coal Minister Sriprakash Jaiswal today said he will lead a protest march on May 28 against the undeclared power cuts in the city.

Addressing a press conference here, Jaiswal said he has also written a letter to Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav in this regard, asking him to immediately attend the power crisis.

Jaiswal said while cities like Itava, Mainpuri and Azamgarh were getting uninterrupted power supply, Kanpur despite being an industrial hub was witnessing daily power cuts of 8 to 10 hours.

Underlining Kanpur's contribution in revenue collection for the state and citing the special power requirements of its small and medium sized industries, Jaiswal said the UP CM must ensure round-the-clock power supply to the city.
