Delhi Police have chargesheeted one of its constables and a private detective in a court here for allegedly buying a SIM card on fake proofs in procuring the call detail records of BJP leader Arun Jaitley and others.
In its charge sheet filed in the court in a case arising out of the probe into Jaitley phone-tapping case, the special cell of Delhi Police said constable Arvind Dabas, 35, and Neeraj Nayar, 36, had used the SIM card to "illegally procure" call detail records (CDRs) of many persons by using official e-mail ids of authorised police officials.
Dabas, Nayar and two others were earlier chargesheeted in an another court in the phone-tapping case by the special cell which had alleged they were involved in a racket of illegally obtaining CDRs.
The latest charge sheet was filed by the police before Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Sanjay Bansal who, after taking cognizance of it, fixed the matter for May 24 for scrutiny of documents.
