Business house Monnet Ispat head Sandeep Jajodia is all set to become the president of AIBA-approved Boxing India in its election to be held in Mumbai on July 9, according to a senior official of the group.
An "unanimous" view has emerged that Jajodia "is the right candidate" to occupy the president's post, Neetal Naarang, Assistant Vice-President (Corporate Communications) of Monnet Ispat told PTI today.
"Jajodia is being looked upon as the right candidate for the position of president. It's going to be a unanimous choice (in the July 9 elections)," she said.

Naarang said Jajodia, the Chairman and Managing Director of long-time Indian boxing sponsor Monnet Ispat and vice-president of top business chamber ASSOCHAM, has found support from the 26 state units which turned up last month in Mumbai in the first AGM on the back of his commitment to the sport in the last six years.
Udith Seth, the other person who floated Boxing India along with Jajodia, is unlikely to contest elections. Seth is the owner of India's World Series of Boxing franchise and AIBA rules are said to be the reason behind his decision not to contest the elections.
"Since 2008, Monnet Ispat has been sponsoring boxing as a Corporate Social Responsibility activity. We (Monnet Ispat) have not ventured into any other sport and have been committed to boxing for the last six years with Jajodia as the head of the company.
"So, it is natural that he will be looked upon as a choice to be fit for the president's post of boxing federation.
