Jalna Municipal Council's chief officer (CO) Deepak Poojari has been suspended for alleged dereliction of duty for remaining absent during the visit of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis here last month.
The suspension order was passed today by the Commissioner and Director of Municipal Administration, Mumbai.
"On April 14, Chief Minster Devendra Fadnavis had visited Jalna. The higher officials directed Poojari to present but he remained absent. The conduct of Poojari was not satisfactory as stated in the proposal of suspension submitted by the district administration," stated the order.
Poojari has been relieved from his duty and the charge would be given to JMC deputy chief officer K.K Mukhedkar.
