'Intruders' star James Frain has been roped in for the third season of Canadian science fiction drama 'Orphan Black'.

The series raises issues about the moral and ethical implications of human cloning and its effect on issues of personal identity.

The 46-year-old actor is set to play Ferdinand, a well-educated, powerful player in a secretive, multi-national political faction, said The Hollywood Reporter.

The drama, which stars Tatiana Maslany, also adds Kyra Harper, Ksenia Solo and Earl Pastko to the lineup.

Solo plays Shay, a holistic healer and new friend to Cosima (Maslany), while Harper performs the role of Dr Coady, a ruthless doctor and consultant for the military. Pastko will play Bulldog, a silent and violent personal bodyguard to Ferdinand.

The third season of 'Orphan Black', comprising ten new episodes, will debut in 2015. The hour-long drama was created by John Fawcett and Graeme Manson.
