"The Wolverine" helmer James Mangold is set to direct Disney's "Captain Nemo", which is partially based on Jules Verne's classic science-fiction book "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea".
Screenwriter Sebastian Gutierrez is working on the latest draft of the script, reported Entertainment Weekly.
In the original novel, Nemo is a mysterious nobleman and scientific genius, who commands the submarine Nautilus.
Apart from Mangold, Bryan Singer is also developing an adaptation of the "20,000 Leagues" at Fox Studios.
