The film is an exploration of how a married couple in New York City deals emotional, life-altering experience, but it is being told in two movies and from two perspectives: one from the husband (McAvoy), a restaurant owner, and the wife (Chastain), a woman who goes back to college.
Since it involves two perspectives, the film has been divided into two parts --"The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: His" and "The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Hers", said The Hollywood reporter.
Ned Benson of "In Defiance of Gravity" will direct the movies from a script written by him. Casting director-turned-producer Cassandra Kulukundis is producing.
Myriad presented the script to buyers at the European Film Market in Berlin earlier this year and is now pre-selling the project in Cannes.
