'Dawson's Creek' actor James Van Der Beek will reportedly star in the spin-off of hit TV series 'CSI: Crime Scene Investigation'.
The 37-year-old actor will play FBI agent Elijah Mundo opposite actress Patricia Arquette in the upcoming series 'CSI: Cyber', reported The New York Post.
His character is said to be 'an expert in battlefield forensics' and a 'savant when it comes to weaponry, vehicles and bombs' who served in Afghanistan.

Van Der Beek last co-starred on the short-lived CBS series 'Friends With Better Lives' and also appeared on 'Don't Trust The B' and 'Mercy', both of which didn't last very long.
He played Dawson Leery on 'Dawson's Creek' from 1998-2003.
