Jamia professor bags IEEE award for developing curriculum, lab

A Jamia Millia Islamia university professor has been selected for IEEE Educational Activities Board (EAB) Continuing Education Award for his design and development of curriculum and laboratory facilities for professionals and students in the electric utility industry.

The award, instituted in 1984 by IEEE, recognizes academician's contribution to the design, delivery, and support of continuing education courses and programs in the fields of interest to IEEE members.

"Dr Mini Shaji Thomas, Honorary Director, Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, Jamia has been selected to receive the prestigious award," the varsity said in a statement today.
 

The citation reads "for design and development of curriculum and laboratory facilities for professionals and students in the electric utility industry".

Thomas will receive the award during the 2015 IEEE EAB Award Presentation Ceremony in New Jersey, USA on 20 November 2015.

"He will receive a plaque with the citation and a cash prize of USD 1000," the statement said.
