Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association today suspended work in the High Court and all subordinate courts in this region to protest the shifting of AIIMS to Kashmir.

"The decision to hold a one-day token strike was taken yesterday and today we suspended work in all the courts across Jammu," president Bar association Jammu Advocate Abhinav Sharma said.

He said that the government has been "playing with the sentiments" of the people of Jammu by first shifting of AIIMS to Kashmir and now shelving the artificial lake project in Jammu.

"The people of Jammu are being made fools and we are not going to tolerate this injustice with the people of Jammu. We will protest this with all our might," he claimed.

He said that the work in the J-K High Court Jammu and all other subordinate courts remained suspended.
