Jammu gets new Psychiatric disease hospital

A modern and newly constructed Psychiatric Hospital was today inaugurated in Jammu.

Minister for Health and Medical Education, and Trainings Ch Lal Singh dedicated the newly constructed Psychiatric Hospital building to the people.

"The hospital building, which was facing delay, has been inaugurated. Strict instructions were given to the authorities soon after I took over as Minister to complete it within days for dedicating it to the people of Jammu," Singh said here.

The 102-bedded hospital completed at a cost of Rs 17.59 crore has outdoor patient facility, laboratory, dispensary, occupational therapy unit, Health and Education, ECT, ICU, and other allied facilities such as meeting hall, social workers, counseling hall, store, drug store, isolation room, special room and toilet blocks.
 

While speaking on the occasion, the Minister exhorted the medicos and paramedicos to work with dedication to provide quality medicare to the patients.

He said that professional ethics should be strictly adhered to and asked doctors to render the public service with highest degree of responsibility and commitment towards the society.

Singh stressed on punctuality in the hospitals and warned that any connivance with private hospitals will be dealt with sternly.

He said that Health has been flagged as a priority sector and concerted efforts were underway to open new health centers in far-off and remote areas of the state to improve the healthcare system.
