Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Minister Priya Sethi said the Mubarak Mandi-Bahu Fort ropeway project will showcase rich Dogra culture, art and heritage.
The minister took stock of works yesterday at all the three sites including Mahamaya, Bahu Fort and Peek-Kho,and urged the concerned departments to expedite the project.
"The Jammu ropeway project will showcase rich Dogra culture, art, heritage and foods with multi-sectoral facilities and infrastructure to come up at the project site here," Sethi said.

"The project involvesfood courts, washrooms, handicap friendly pathways...The length of section 1 is 1.18 km and distances from Mahamaya to Peerkho and section 2 is 0.47 km (Mahamaya-Bahu). Parking at the Bahu fort to be developed at an estimated cost of 14 crore," she said.
It was further informed that a system shall be put into place to offer facilities for booking tickets online and linking it to various airlines and online travel agencies.
Sethi also instructed to prepare a project report for the widening of road for the tourist buses.
She said that the state has vast pilgrim tourism potential which needs to tapped optimally and efforts should be made to provide best facilities to the tourists.
The minister stressed on the need to adequately promote the tourists destinations in and around Jammu so that these can be popularised among the tourist giving a fillip to the sector.
Sethi said that the completion of these projects will give a major boost to the tourism industry.
