Vomedh Rangmanch, a prominent theatre group of Kashmiri artistes, is set to perform 'terrace theatre' here.
Vomedh, led by young director Rohit Bhat, launched the fortnightly theatre series today. The first presentation on the inaugural day was "Daya Sanz Daygath" written by Ravinder Dhar and directed by Rohit.
Terrace theatre is yet another step in promoting regular theatre activities by Vomedh group which has carved a niche in theatre circles of Jammu and Kashmir and presented various theatrical presentations in and outside the state.
The group, which was was launched with an aim to preserve theater, culture and art among the displaced Kashmiri Pandits in Jammu and Delhi, has till now performed plays including "Ek Aur Birbal", "Ateeth Ke Sakshi", "Khoya Bachpan", "Gade Bateh" and "Rovmut Bhatta".
"We are also initiating a regular workshop series for the fresh aspirants and theatre lovers which will be conducted by Vomedh groups senior artistes to keep the flame of meaningful and quality theatre alive", Rakesh Roshan Bhat, the playwright and the mentor of the group, said.
