Jamshedpur book fair begins

The 30th annual Book fair was opened here today with 72 publishers from across the country taking part in the 10-day event.

Organized by the Tagore Society, Jamshedpur, the book fair would continue till November 23 at the Rabindra Bhawan campus, said Secretary of the Society, Asish Choudhury.

Inaugurated by the Society's president Dr H S Pal, the fair has books in various languages like English, Hindi, Urdu, Santali and Bangla.

Choudhury appealed to the people specially the parents to encourage their wards to read books.

Over 55,000 footfall was registered in the last edition of the fair, and the organisers were expecting that the figure would touch around 65,000 in the current edition.
