Jamshedpur faces cold wave condition

The steel city of Jamshedpur and in adjacent areas continued to reel under cold wave with mercury plummeted to 10 degree Celsius today.

The minimum temperature today recorded at 10 degree Celsius, which is two degree below normal, while the maximum temperature was at 24.8 degree Celsius, Met office sources said.

Amidst the prevailing cold condition, majority of the schools reopened today after about a fortnight X-mas vacation.

Meanwhile, the East Singhbhum district administration as well as the social organizations have taken initiative to make necessary arrangement for the poor and needy people in view of the prevailing cold conditions, forcing people to remain indoor after sunset.
 

A social organization "Maa Tara Educational and Welfare Trust", which also runs a degree college in the district, has distributed blankets among poor and old persons in Asanboni area on Monday last.

Golmuri Mandal committee president of BJP, Dinesh Kumar also distributed blankets among poor villagers in Narga, under M G M police station area.
