The BJP today said the Jan Sangh helped Goa, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Puducherry in getting independence from foreign rule.

BJP national general secretary (organisation) Ram Lal also said the party had fought for the construction of Ram in Ayodhaya, Shah Bano case, Bofors scam, Kashmir issue and terrorism.

"This is the reason why the party is progressing and had a majority government under the leadership of Prime Minister NarendraModi. We are here for a prosperous India," he said, adding that the party was following the principle of "nation first and party second".

"We are in the politics for a mission and not for the commission," he said, addressing the BJP workers at the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay state-level training on "History of BJP and development".

State BJP chief Ashok Parnami said that the BJP has around 10 to 11 crore members due to commitment, hard work and strong organisation structure.
