Japan today offered condolences to the families of victims of floods that have wreaked havoc in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and parts of Uttar Pradesh.
Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida conveyed his deepest condolences to the families of the victims.
"I was deeply saddened to learn that the heavy flooding caused by the torrential rain has left extensive damages in the state of Uttarakhand and other states in northern India," he said in a message to External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid.
"On behalf of the Government of Japan, I would like to express my heartfelt condolences to the victims and their bereaved families. I sincerely wish the earliest recovery of the region, for those who are affected," the Minister said.
