Japan's JGC keen on setting up refinery & cracker unit in AP

Japan-based JGC Corporation has expressed keen interest in setting up a refinery and cracker unit in Andhra Pradesh.

JGC Corporation Chairman Masayuki Sato met Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu during his ongoing visit to Japan and said that the company wants to partner with Andhra Pradesh in food-processing sector, a state government release said here today.

Technology giant Toshiba has also come forward to assist the state to optimise power management, it added.

Naidu has invited the company to partner in energy research and collaborate with the state on the proposed energy university.

Besides, Andhra Pradesh Technology Services and Japan's NEC signed an MoU to work on designing and implementing a safe city project in Tirupati.
 

The Chief Minister also met top officials from Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation and Honda Motorcycle Division, the release said.
