Japan will host World Economic Forum's special meeting scheduled to be held in October 2016.
In this regard, a letter of intent was exchanged between WEF Executive Chairman Klaus Schwab and Japanese Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Hakubun Shimomura here today.
The special meeting, to be held in Japan from October 19-22, 2016, would bring together 2,000 leaders and future leaders from the arts, culture, business, government, academia and civil society as well as representatives of the Forum's Global Shapers and Young Global Leaders communities.
"We would like to establish an effective organization of the Special Meeting in Japan and will be working with the World Economic Forum towards that goal," Shimomura said in a statement.
