Actor Jason Priestley has said he would not like his 10-year-old daughter Ava to watch a show like "13 Reasons Why".
The "Private Eyes" actor believes that his daughter is not yet ready to watch the hard-hitting and controversial series from Netflix.
"Back in the day, 'Beverly Hills 90210' was pushing the boundaries for our time and '13 Reasons Why' is doing so for our time. TV shows are reflective of the time they are made. We have to remember we are talking about two shows that were made 30 years apart, so different times, different boundaries," Priestley told DigitalSpy.
"I have to admit I don't let my 10-year-old daughter watch '13 Reasons Why', but I don't actually let her watch 'Beverly Hills 90210', either. I'm trying to keep that genie in the bottle for as long as I can," he added.
When asked whether he found the Netflix series, which has been criticised for its graphic depiction of suicide and rape, bold the actor said it is up to the parents and they have to decide on allowing their children to watch the show.
"I think it's all down to parenting. It's up to you to decide how far along your kids are and what you are comfortable showing them. Certain families are much more open than others, so they should let them watch what they are comfortable with them watching," Priestley said.
