Jats intensify stir, sit on indefinite hunger strike

Six members of the agitating Akhil Bhartiya Jat Arakshan Sangharsh Samiti, a body seeking OBC status for the community to avail quota benefits, today sat on an indefinite hunger strike here to press for their demand.

The protesters had yesterday held a rally in Mayyar village here and were, since then, holding a chain hunger strike.

Accusing both the Centre and state government of ignoring their cause, Samiti leader Ram Bhagat Malik thretened to launch a nation-wide agitation for their demands.

Yesterday, a Balidan rally was held on the occasion of the first death anniversary of Sandeep Sheoran, who was killed in a clash between police and protesters.
