Union HRD minister Prakash Javadekar today asked IIM students here to utilise their knowledge in the service of the poor and the nation as poor taxpayers' money had also gone into the making of their prestigious institute.
"You must always bear in mind that the poor taxpayers' money has also gone into the making of your institute where you are learning so much. Try to use what you learn here to serve the poor and the nation," Javadekar said addressing the fifth convocation of the Indian Institute of Management here.
Expressing happiness at the prospect of teachers and students of the institute being able to reside on a common campus after the constructions underway were complete, he said teacher-student interaction or dialogue is the best way of education.
