Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar today said the IITs are not getting international rankings due to perception management issue and this would now be tackled by his ministry.
"IITs are recognised across the globe as one of the few best institutes of the world but there is a feeling of unfinished agenda, because though we are the best institutes we are not ranked," he said after inaugurating the IIT Goa campus.
"Why? Because when I studied, the whole international ranking framework, there are nearly 40 per cent marks are given for perception and therefore I decided as my first priority that we will give IITs its due place in international ranking by tackling and addressing this perception management issue," he added.
