: Union Minister Prakash Javadekar today took a veiled dig at the TDP, which left the NDA alliance, saying that it 'has a habit of ditching friends.'

"We had an alliance with Telugu Desam in the elections (in 2014). But they left us. We don't ditch friends. But some people have the habit of ditching fiends. They did now. They did earlier also. They ditched others also," Javadekar said.

The Human Resources Development Minister stated this while participating in a public meeting organised by BJP as part of ongoing Jana Chaitanya Yatra at Tungaturti, about 140 km from here.

Javadekar also said he was confident that his party would come to power in Telangana in the 2019 elections.

Taking a dig at the Congress, he said Rajiv Gandhi himself had admitted that only Rs 15 of the Rs 100 sent by the Centre reaches beneficiaries, whereas the Narendra Modi government ensures that the entire amount reaches the poor.

He opined that the BC Corporation Bill would be passed in the next Parliament session.

BJP Telangana President K Laxman, National General Secretary P Muralidhar Rao and former Union Minister and MP Bandaru Dattatreya also spoke at the meeting.
