Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar today travelled by Delhi Metro to reach his office after attending an event in Gurgaon.

Official sources said Javadekar took train from Guru Dronacharya metro station in evening and disembarked at Jor Bagh, which is close to his Paryavaran Bhawan office.

Javadekar is a frequent commuter of Airport Metro Express and travels by it when he has to catch a flight from the IGI Airport, they said.

Union Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu, who too has travelled by Delhi Metro a few times, had previously promoted its use for environmental reason while terming it as a 'symbol of modern India'.

In the past, former Union minister and Congress leader M Veerappa Moily had taken metro rides a few times.
