Jaya announces more courts to speed up cases

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa today announced setting up of 32 new courts, including ten fast track courts across the state at a total cost of Rs 14.89 crore, to aid further speedy disposal of cases.

Augmenting the subordinate judicial infrastructure, Jayalalithaa in an announcement in the State Assembly said 22 civil and criminal courts, at a cost of Rs 9.57 crore would be set up in the State.

This includes 13 district and additional district courts in places including Lalgudi, Madurai and Coimbatore and nine judicial magistrate courts in towns including Perambalur, Kumbakonam, and Andipatti.

Also, ten Fast Track Courts would be set up in towns including Theni, Paramakudi, Arani, Nagercoil, and Kanchipuram at a cost of Rs 5.32 crore.
 

"This would help clear up (soon) the cases," she said.
