Jaya announces solatium for families of 2 jawans,forest ranger

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa today announced a solatium of Rs three lakhs each to the family members of two Army jawans and a forest ranger, who lost their lives in different incidents in the state.

Jayalalithaa expressed grief over the death of trainers Havildars Darsim Singh and Manwar Singh, who succumbed to injuries after a metal ladder they were on came in contact with a live wire in the Officers' Training Academy (OTA) at St Thomas Mount here on July 17.

The jawans were natives of Fatehpur district in Himachal Pradesh and Chamoli district of Uttarakhand respectively.

She also expressed grief over the death of forest ranger R Murugan in a wall collapse at Veppilaipatti of Salem district on June 1.
 

She also announced a relief of Rs 25,000 to those injured in these incidents from the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's Relief Fund, a statement said.

Havildars Sushil Singh and Rajendra Singh were injured in OTA incident while a woman was injured in the wall collapse, it added.
