Jaya inaugurates National Law School in TN

Implementing a 2011 Cabinet decision, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa today inaugurated the Rs 100 crore National Law School at her native constituency Srirangam.

The Chief Minister inaugurated the institution through video-conferencing in the presence of Justice Rajesh Kumar Agrawal, Acting Chief Justice of Madras High Court, from here.

Her cabinet had decided to set it up in Tiruchirappalli district in 2011. The Madras High Court Chief Justice will be the Chancellor and Law Minister Pro-Chancellor.

The 25-acre campus will house various departments and amenities for students including hostel facilities and 100 students including 10 NRIs will be admitted in the 2013-14 academic year, a government release here said.
 

Jayalalithaa and Justice Agrawal gave away admission orders to seven and five students respectively.

Similarly, she also inaugurated the Tiruvannamalai Medical College Hospital, constructed at an estimated Rs 73.16 crore.
